2020 Predictions

A new year and a new decade just started, and that means we will get new LEGO video games content. For 2020 there are two games officially announced, which are LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and LEGO Star Wars Battles, the first mobile game from TT Games. But, when will they be released? Are we getting other games this year? Will they be available for Xbox Series X and PS5? Here you can read all my predictions for this year.

▪️LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Release Date

For now we don't have any official release date, but considering all the time the game has been announced and all the time it has been in development, we might get it in the first half of 2020. Being more precisely, I think it will release in the Q2 of the year.

Season Pass

There's a 99% of chance that we will get a Season Pass for the game. It'll probably include 6 Level Packs and 4 Character Packs like in other LEGO games. I think all the DLCs will be available during 2020 and during the first half of 2021. About what will be these DLCs? We might get DLCs about the following content:

- The Mandalorian

- Star Wars Rebels

- The Clone Wars

- Rogue One

- Solo

- Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+ Series)

- Cassian Andor (Disney+ Series)

- The Freemaker Adventures

▪️LEGO Star Wars Battles

LEGO Star Wars Battles is the first LEGO game for mobile devices made by TT Games. For now there isn't a lot of information about it, but we might get this game for the first half of the year, around LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's release date. I also think this will be the only mobile game for 2020, as it will be like a "test".

▪️A New Game

I'm pretty sure that we will get another LEGO Game besides LEGO Star Wars. I think it's time we get a new original game (like LEGO Worlds, LEGO City Undercover, and others). If it isn't original, it might be of a small franchise never seen before on a LEGO video game. This game will probably be released by the Q4 of the year.

▪️Port / Collection

Following the pattern of previous years (LEGO Marvel Collection, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, LEGO Jurassic World for Switch, between others) we most likely will get a new one. It might be a port of an old game for the Nintendo Switch or a collection of games for Xbox and PlayStation. My predictions are that it will be a LEGO DC Collection.

▪️Xbox Series X / PS5

As many of you know, this year we will get the new generation of consoles. The Xbox Series X and PS5 will both be released next holidays. It's very likely that we will get LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for those consoles with the initial line-up, along the new game to be released this year.

When will games stop releasing for Xbox One / PS4?

It's very likely that during this year and 2021 (even 2022) we will still get all the LEGO games for the old generation of consoles and the new one, until they become exclusive to the new one.
